2023 MPS K-12 Art Show

After two years of virtual shows, the Middletown Public Schools’ K-12 Art Show is back in-person! The art show is held annually, highlighting student artwork from the city’s eleven schools. This show will be held at Wesleyan University’s Center for the Arts at the Zilkha Gallery. The show typically draws about 2,000 spectators during its run. The event is free and open to the public.

The District's Art Department has been organizing the exhibit for over 40 years. Student art from kindergartners working in various media to high school seniors in advanced placement classes working in sculpture and oil paints will be on view. The show also provides evidence to the wider community that art education matters.

The show will have its opening reception on
Saturday, March 11, 2023:
Kindergarten through 5th Grade will be present 3:00PM to 5:00 PM,
Grades 6th through 12th will be present 5:00PM to 7:00PM.

Families, community members, and news media are welcome and encouraged to attend and document the event. This event is in partnership with the Middletown Board of Education, Wesleyan University Center for the Arts, Community Foundation of Middlesex County, and Elizabeth Swaim Arts Enrichment Fund.

Lastly, for the past two years, student work was shown virtually on the website linked below; now that we are back in-person, we will no longer be using the website.
